Eating Animals, Jonathan Safran Cohen
   This book confirmed my thoughts. There is no middle ground when talking about murder, torture, rape, slavery and so on. Either you are a murderer, or you try to make the least impact on the world you live in. To choose vegetarianism is not okay; it means choosing the lesser evil, while still supporting the greater one. Milk is meat. Eggs are meat. Only they come in a different form. As long as people keep feeding off of corpses there can be no humanity.

day 24 » a character whom you relate to the most

   This is so difficult because when I read I do connect with the characters, but still they are completely different people, who make their own choices and live on their own, with no connection to me whatsoever. Sometimes I can find a trait or a flaw that I recognise in myself, but it usually stops at that. I mean, I love learning things and my grades in high school were pretty high and I praise intelligence above anything else, but I am no Hermione. I feel like fighting for the right cause, but I most likely wouldn’t go as far as Moiraine, nor as Rand himself. I have this thing where I look up to every single character, where I see them as better people than me. That’s why I cannot see myself in any of them.

The Wheel of Time, Robert Jordan
   Why, Rand? Why do you go to battle? What is the point?
   Why?
   All was still. Even with the tempest, the winds, the crashes of thunder. All was still.
Why? Rand thought with wonder. Because each time we live, we get to love again.
   That was the answer. It all swept over him, lives lived, mistakes made, love changing everything. He saw the entire world in his mind’s eye, lit by the glow in his hand. He remembered lives, hundreds of them, thousands of them, stretching to infinity. He remembered love, and peace, and joy, and hope.

The Catcher in the Rye, J.D. Salinger
   I picked up this book because I kept seeing it quoted on tumblr and basically everywhere. I don’t understand what the excitement is all about, really. I thought it would be exciting and what have you, but in the end it was really boring to be honest.
